May is a beautiful month to visit the big city. NYC has several festivals and events that are sure to have you enjoying your stay and the beautiful spring weather.

Here are several festivals you have to check out in NYC in the month of May.

Memorial Day Festival

At the end of the month, you might enjoy sticking around for the Memorial Day festival. This is a fun time to celebrate freedom and all of the men and women who sacrificed so much for us to have the things we do. A boat ride out on the water, the best barbeque in NYC, or firework displays are all ways to make this holiday memorable for you and your family.

Mother’s Day Festival

In the middle of the month, there is the celebration of Mother’s Day which is more magical while in NYC. There are several spas, flower shops, and shopping that can be a part of celebrating the important mother in your life.

Washington Square Outside Art Exhibit

Several artists will be set up all in the park to display their work and also paint live masterpieces for you to enjoy. Check out University Place on E. 13th Street to be a part of this artistic tradition.

Cat Camp

Cat lovers are given the opportunity to shop, eat, and spend time together in the great city of NYC. Several different speakers come to speak on cat-related topics where you are sure to learn how to better love and care for your cat. With cats available for adopting, you may go home with a new kitten to love.

Bike New York

Take your bike to NYC and enjoy biking the streets of the great city for the month. You can also find bike shops to repair or purchase a new bike, but you will definitely not be out of place if you choose a bike for your means of transportation.

Summer Yacht Party

You can enjoy the skyline of New York City while aboard a yacht and party up the beginning of summer with your closest friends and family, or with future friends you are meeting for the first time. Being on the water is a great way to stay cool with the warm weather approaching. Hornblower Cruises and Events Pier 40 at West Village is where you need to go for this event.
