The ancient Incan city stands 7,000 feet above sea level and overlooks the Urubamba Valley. Researchers believe that 1,200 people once lived here. However, others believe the location was a retreat for rulers. The structures found on the mountain represent the agricultural, religious, and urban aspects of the city. Guides offer tours that include hiking paths up to the summit. The treks vary in distance and difficulty.
4) Namibia – Africa
Namibia is a country along the southwestern coast of Africa. The Namib Desert is the oldest on the planet and provides the chance to experience amazing adventures. Visit the Etosha National Park, which is known for safaris that enable guests to see lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and many other mammals in their natural habitat.
5) The Appalachian Trail – Eastern U.S.
The trail spans 2,192 miles and journeys through 14 states. Hike for a day, a week, or trek the entire length. See and smell the wildflowers in spring or the colorful array of turning leaves during the fall. Enjoy the lush forests. Gaze in awe over the mountain vistas. Greet other hikers along the way.
